Updated March 2017:

As I receive reunion information I will update this page.  As of now the only thing I think I know is that your reunion will take place in October in Mexico City.

Details on how to register to follow shortly.

From Clive Dawson:

Hola Compañeros,

Our 50th Class Reunion is only a few months away, and we have the dates and place:   October 5-8 — A Return to our Roots in Mexico City!

More details will follow shortly via email, but we wanted to get the crucial info out so that you can save the dates and work this milestone reunion into your plans.

The main organizers are Rolando De La Llata and Gary Richmond, with help and advice from Victor Hattem ’65, who did a fabulous job with the ’65 Reunion two years ago.  I attended that event, and was very impressed with how well everything was handled (hotel, activities, logistics, safety, etc.)  One of the highlights was a visit to our school— if you haven’t been back there since graduation, you will be A-M-A-Z-E-D!!!

Of course the same can be said for Mexico City itself.  If you want to get a taste of what it looks like today, check out this YouTube video (one of many you can search for):

You can expect several more announcements in the near future regarding registration details, the schedule of activities, and a call for volunteers to fill places on the Reunion Committee in order to help make this reunion a great success!

Following the example of several previous reunions, we are planning to invite AHS alumni from other surrounding classes to join us, especially those from ’65-’66 and ’68-’69.

Here are a few things you can do right now:

  • If you haven’t heard from me personally in the last couple of weeks, please acknowledge that you received this message by sending me a direct email (do not reply to this message!) to c49bdawson@austin.rr.com which includes your current contact info:  address, phones, and email.
  • Contact ’67 classmates and friends from other classes and spread the word!  If there’s anybody that you would especially like to see at the reunion please let me know and I will make a special effort to track them down and make sure they get the info.
  • (LEIGH REPORTS:  REGISTRATION WILL BE THROUGH SOME OTHER CHANNEL, BUT I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS I RECEIVE INFO)  Please go to http://ahs65mexico.com/ and register.  It is a free website set up by Leigh Lockwood ’65 for use by all AHS ’60’s alumni.  As soon as we get it set up, you will be able to register for the reunion, see a list of who’s planning to attend, and browse through all sorts of other very interesting material, including great stories, photos and videos.

Saludos to all!

Clive
